How to Handle Slow Speed Floor Machines

By: Steve Hanson

Slow speed floor machines are also known as swing machines or rotary floor machines. If you've ever seen one in action, you'll know that they "swing" from side to side.

Operating a swing machine is basically a balancing act and takes practice. Here are some tips for operating a swing machine:

*First adjust the handle so it's at waist level. This will allow you to have more control.

*Never work your way into the cord, always work away from it.

*To keep the cord out of your way, either loop the cord over the handle or swing it over your shoulder.

*To move the machine to the left, lower the handle.

*To move the machine to the right, raise the handle.

*When using the machine to strip floors, use a splashguard to keep the chemicals from splashing onto baseboards, fixtures, and furniture.
