All About Mop Buckets and Wringers

By: Steve Hanson

Metal Buckets and Wringers not only last a long time, they're also very durable and rust-resistant too. Metal wringers have steel handles so you can apply added pressure when ringing out the mop.

Plastic Buckets are the most commonly used mop buckets because they are lightweight, durable, and affordable. There are different sizes available, anywhere from 20 to 50 gallons. Either side-press or down-press wringers can be used with plastic buckets.

Down-press Wringers use a downward action when wringing your mop. You'll press down from the top, which allows you to put extra pressure on the mop.

Side-press Wringers places pressure on the mop from the side. You'll need extra force when using a side-press wringer.

Duo Buckets have two tanks. Usually you'll use one tank for your mopping solution and the other for your rinsing solution. These buckets are usually used in healthcare facilities and may have antimicrobial agents build in, which resist bacterial growth.

Strainer Mop Buckets are made of very lightweight plastic, which are great for going up and down stairs. Most strainer mop buckets will have a low gallon capacity.

Microfiber Mop Buckets are designed to for use with microfiber mop pads, usually up to 18" wide. The press sieve permits no-touch removal of cleaning solution from mops. There are also no moving parts, and non-marking casters.
